I really like colors. So I decided to round up things I have that I think match nicely.
(This may or may not become a regular feature...)
And take a picture to share, of course.
I was writing a letter to a friend when I noticed that my nail polish pretty well matched the ink color I was writing with.
:)
Can't imagine how that would happen.
I was writing with the color "soft mint" by Diamine. It's my favorite shade in between blue and green. I feel like the name doesn't really hint at this color. And the bottle completely obscures the color of ink inside.
My nails were done with two coats of "East Village" by New York Color, followed by a layer of glittery goodness known as "Hypnautical" by Sally Hansen. That glittery layer really doesn't show up well on paper at all, but it packs a glitter-filled punch when applied to fingernails properly (lavishly).
And I still want the job where you get to name colors with ridiculous phrases.
I will always want that job.

ballerina kitty - from Jan
That's right. Fluffy McFluffkins can dress in an even fluffier costume!
I love the sparkly tiara, fluffy little legs, and dainty pink shoes.
Many thanks to Jan from Iowa for participating in my silly mail project!

bad hair day - from Eric
Eric sent this really excellent digital collage.
I really like the vividness of the blue, and the optical texture is really interesting.
(I'm calling it "optical texture" only because the card itself feels smooth.)
And the scale is perfect, so much so that I expect a dude's face on top of the neck...but it is that silly monkey, every time. :)
Eric's blog, My Mail Art World, is chock full of detailed mail art exchanges and lots of pictures. You should check it out if you're unfamiliar with it.
Also, this postcard came all the way from France, so you'll find a shot of the postage below, because I think it's pretty.
I was *just* in France a few weeks ago, and I had a postcard-enthusiast mini-disaster: I completely forgot to bring my address book. Ha! So I could only send mail to the people whose addresses I had memorized. Weirdly, it turned out I knew a LOT more addresses by heart than I thought I knew, right down to the zip codes.
When I mailed those postcards, I got a bunch of postage stamps that looked very similar to this one, only in purple!
Here is what I sent to Eric.
And there's nothing wrong with a little truth.
Is that a fake bunny postage stamp? Why yes, it is.

Taco Tuesday: capture the ferret
Oh, all right. It's only Monday. So shhh, don't tell, but I'm posting early this week.
I have been wanting to learn how to make animated gifs (can't be that hard...right?) but then I got sidetracked while I was messing around with the pictures in Windows Movie Maker. So that is where this messy video-like business came from.
In case all of that technology fails (...and I expect it to fail!)...here are some still photos of Taco stalking his toy ferret, from inside the box we cut kitty-holes into.
I like the crazed look in his eyes, as he captures his fuzzy foe.

Taco Tuesday - glad to be home
He is a weird little dude, and I have no idea what he dreams about when he is asleep, but I am glad to have him in my life.
