Giselle and PostMuse

Anthropomorphic Mail Art Project!

The infamous PostMuse has sent us (sorry, I'm having a "royal" moment) a delightful postcard
with a fully developed backstory.

 I am severely impressed.

Her text reads as follows:

"Giselle Gets Ready"
Giselle needs the five alarm wake up every workday because her beau, Moose, keeps her up all night.
At least her job, coaching the university basketball team, is rewarding and not too much of a stretch.

So hilarious.  A giraffe really would be good as a basketball coach.

Let's take a moment to appreciate some details here - first, the color scheme.  Masterful gold tones and browns and black and white.  And, oh yes, a little pop of blue in the corner - which is perfect, because then you realize that postage stamp is actually a framed photo of Giselle's beau!

I love the whole thing, because it's so thoughtfully woven together, both conceptually and compositionally.

You want to know what the icing on the post-cake is?

She used this vintage basketball postage stamp to send it.

  1. Bonnie Jeanne is a brilliant specimen. However, my heart is with Giselle.

  2. I love the alarm clocks and of course the backstory is grand!
