Well, name it, then.
Uncustomary - honestly, I *just* got your screen name this instant. That is hilarious.
But anyway, I wanted to reply to your name post a little more fully over here.
You had asked if you know any songs with your name in them - which I'd be inclined to say "no" to, only there is a song that someone else fervently believed included my name.
"Sweet Caroline" is a song that my middle-school gym teacher used to sing to me in the hallways before class started.
I objected simply because I pronounce my name differently. Also, I had a nickname and no one called me by my full name at the time, so most of my classmates were terribly confused about why he was singing this song.
I also had to willfully ignore the super-duper creepiness of the undertone of this song, which I suppose was compounded by the fact that none of my classmates understood that he was singing it to me.
Dude. I was, like, twelve.
So we all just thought he was crazy, like the rest of our teachers - one of whom would occasionally parade down the hallways playing a bagpipe at full blast.
I'm starting to think that my middle school was a pretty fun place.
objects of affection
That is how I wrapped my beloved's present on Valentine's Day.
Does the hand-carved heart look familiar?
I use it to make letter sets and itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny notebooks, as shown above.
Taco couldn't help himself. He had to investigate. He wanted to know why he wasn't getting a heart-adorned package.
(I told him I make him enough cat toys for a cat army.)
And my beloved brought me a bouquet of roses.
Hot.
Pink.
Origami.
Roses.
I can hardly believe his paper-folding talents, myself.
This place is like a hot bed for creation - people often whine about living someplace boring, but I think that boring places make interesting people.

octopus hugger
Another thing that happened on the back of an envelope this past month.
I wonder where their office is, since both a bird and an octopus can work there.
That's very equal-opportunity.
Is needing an aquarium to work considered a disability of some kind?

Oh, for the love of pickles.
The back of an envelope that I recently sent.
Also, I juuuuuuuuust started making mini notebooks, and I am SO in LOVE with them.
Of course I made one with pickles, what kind of a girl do you think I am?
More notebooks will be coming soon!
But for now, you can see them here -

And you can find them without pickles over here -

But I don't know what you're doing with your life if you need things that aren't covered in pickles. :)

a love letter to ink
The Goulets - over at http://www.gouletpens.com/
are having a contest revolving around love letters.
I've got a weakness for love letters, and so I entered.
Basically, you just had to explain what it is that you love about fountain pens, or paper, or something else related to the use of fountain pens.
Here's the contest: http://www.inknouveau.com/2013/02/love-letter-contest.html
Anyway, here's what I sent in.
Of course, I continued on to the back.
And I packaged it prettily.
Recognize the block print? It's my own stationery.

And, because we are all so starved for photographs of mail (haha, I KNOW, that's all I look at in the blog world!)
they've even posted a picture of their entries so far.

Mine isn't there yet, which is good, because it would have upset the balance of that very nice photograph.
Dear Ink,
I love you.
Goodnight!

circus owl
I'm pretty sure his talons would puncture a ball like that.
But he can fly, so at least he won't have any bruises.

baby valentine and Taco Tuesday!
I sent my nephew a valentine.
Couldn't help myself.
He's cute.
He isn't even one year old yet.
So I sent him a whale.
Origami's not really my strong suit, but I thought it came out pretty well.
And the envelope has to match, of course.
I thought I'd warn him about conversation hearts early. There really is much better candy out there.
You'll note that Taco said hi.
Well, speaking of Taco...
It's Taco Tuesday!
He got in a lot of trouble today, and learned some important lessons regarding the proper placement of poop (keep it in the litter box, thankyouverymuch)
and
that abandoned crocheting projects are, in fact, NOT edible.
Now, of course, he's feet-everywhere-tired.
